Discover the Best of Champagne in One Day from Paris
From 8 a.m., your private driver will pick you up at your hotel in Paris to drive you in the direction of Reims, located just 1.5 hours’ drive from Paris.
All day long, your driver will suggest you several stops including a first one, in a cellar of one of the most famous champagne houses, such as Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, Moët & Chandon, Mumm or even Pommery. This visit will be led by a guide from the house itself, who will introduce you to their vineyards, their cellars, as well as their champagne-making process and secrets of production, without forgetting a tasting session alongside a Sommelier.
After this visit, your driver will drop you off in the heart of Reims city and then leave you for 30 to 45 minutes of free time to discover at your own the emblematic Reims Cathedral, which is the coronation place of the kings of France.
For lunch (at your expense), a table will be booked for you in one of restaurants in Reims. A picnic in the middle of the vineyards may be possible (depending on the season and optional).
An afternoon with an authentic and passionate champagne grower
Following your lunch, you will meet your chauffeur to set off on the Champagne route, in a natural setting of vineyards, towards an authentic family-owned wine house, near Reims city.
In the heart of the vineyards, you will meet a family-owned Champagne producer who will open his doors to you on their passion and their know-how around this famous drink. You will experience a moment of discovery in a more intimate house than the other big houses in the region, in order to better understand the universe of this sparkling and unique drink. You will visit the cellars, the cuves and discover all the wine-making and bottling process.
Then, the small grower, a true enthusiast person, will be glad to invite you to taste 3 of their cuvées. At the end of this guided tour, you can buy and bring back bottles as a souvenir at home.
Exploring Hautvillers and Epernay on the Champagne Route
Your day trip will end with a stop in the charming typical and unusual village of Hautvillers, where the famous Dom Pérignon has invented champagne in the 18th century, and where there is a beautiful and old Benedictine abbey. If the weather permits, your driver can stop you in this village for a “photo stop” and you may also take time to stroll around freely in Hautvillers village.
According to your wishes, your chauffeur can also drive you to a friendly place in Hautvillers, called "Au 36" Champagne bar, for another tasting session. It should be the perfect moment to taste local specialties such as their "Champard 'ises' (optional). There is a wide choice of other regional products that you can taste, a selection of nice souvenirs and jewelery that you can afford, and of course some of bottles of champagne from the region that you can buy to bring back home (6 bottles per box).

This moment in the village of Hautvillers can be replaced by a stop in Épernay city to make you live another moment in one of the most prestigious houses, located in the avenue de Champagne, nicknamed as being the “Champs - Élysées d'Épernay” and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Pick up from your hotel in Paris
Your private driver will pick you up at the place of your choice. About 1h30 drive depending on the location of your hotel to get to the first place of your trip in Reims or Epernay.

Lunch at the Brasserie le Jardin
A free lunch (at your expense) in one of the restaurants in Reims, such as the elegant address “Brasserie le Jardin”, located in the luxury hotel of Domaine Les Crayères in an outbuilding of a stunning 7-hectare park.
Visit and tasting at Michel Fagot
English guided tour of this family-owned house, located in Rilly-la-Montagne in the heart of the Champagne vineyards. A commented tasting of 3 cuvées is including.
Discovery of the Champagne Route
On the way to the village of Hautvillers by the Champagne route to discover the natural heritage of this region. Photo stops will be possible and will have to be requested with your driver.
Hautvillers village
Free stroll and on foot in the small village of Hautvillers to visit the Abbey where the tomb of Dom Pérignon is held. Other option can be organized to drive you to a champagne bar, called "Au 36", for another wine tasting and/or local products (at your expense).
Drop off at your hotel in Paris
After this full day tour in the heart of Champagne, your driver will drive you back to your hotel in Paris (or to the place of your choice that you will have indicated to us at the time of booking).

Can I visit Dom Pérignon's cellars?
Dom Pérignon is produced by Moët & Chandon, and the experience takes place at the same location in Épernay, with access through the Moët & Chandon cellars. While there isn't a standalone Dom Pérignon tour, you can book a prestige experience at Moët & Chandon that includes Dom Pérignon cellars and tastings. These must be booked 3 months in advance, and are available at an extra cost.

« We booked a day trip from Paris for our family of 7 to the Champagne region. Our driver picked us up outside of our rental apartment and was very prompt. He spoke wonderful English and drove a very nice Mercedes van. The Reims Cathedral was an unexpected treat. Before this trip, we had no idea it even existed. It is massive, beautiful and steeped in French history. From there, we toured the Pommery champagne house. It is a huge underground facility with many art installations. From there we drove to a nearby restaurant and had a lovely lunch. We then drove into the vineyard country to tour a much smaller champagne house, Champagne Daniel Dumont. We climbed down a narrow, spiral staircase to the cellars below. This maison only produces 90,000 bottles per year, so it was a much different vibe than Pommery. Mom & Pop operation v. big corporation. Very cool. We sampled three different champagnes which were all delicious. From there we drove to Hautvillers, stopping along the way to take photos of the beautiful vineyards. In Hautvillers, we took photos with the statue of Dom Perignon, the Godfather of Champagne. Our driver graciously took lots of group photos for us. Afterwards, we drove back to Paris. Overall, a great day trip from Paris. I highly recommend it! »
